Dina Samelis

Dina is the founder and director of Happy Sun Yoga. She is originally from Montreal, Canada and has been living in beautiful Buenos Aires, Argentina for the last three years. Yoga can mean so many different things to many different people. To Dina, yoga started out as a pure physical workout and gradually became so much more then she ever expected. "I remember the first time I ever attended a yoga class. I felt like I was exactly where I belonged and that I would do yoga forever. Ever since then, I've been blessed with so many positive experiences.  My goal is to share that with you through yoga practice because it has brought so much happiness in my own life"

Dina graduated from the Yandara Yoga Institute Teacher Training Program in Baja Mexico and is a Registered Yoga Teacher.  She is currently studying Anusara Yoga with B.J. Galvan.  Her teaching style is calm and down to earth, combining Univeral Principles of Allignment and Vinyasa flow, adapting them to suit the ability and needs of the student. Classes may be strong and sweaty or gentle and relaxing. Her yoga classes include a combination of many yogic techniques such as asanas (yoga exercises), pranayamas (breathing exercices), deep relaxation, chanting and meditation.  As a teacher she challenges students to see who they are, and show them how to be more themselves by being aware of each moment and each breath.

Some of her other interests include reiki, thai yoga massage, holistic healing, cooking, entertaining friends, gardening, reading, traveling, surfing  and continuously learning.

Amanda Sides

Amanda is a yoga teacher, Thai bodywork therapist, and fitness instructor who recently moved to Buenos Aires from Colorado. She first discovered yoga in high school as a complement to her athletic endeavors, but it wasn't until college that she developed a dedicated practice and began to acquire a deeper understanding of yoga. In 2007, she journeyed to India to study with Yogi Vishvketu and the World Conscious Yoga Family (RYS) and receive her 200-hour teaching certification.

Amanda's classes include a variety of asanas and focus on breathing as well as body awareness, appreciation, and acceptance. She believes the yoga journey is a personal one, and each student is encouraged to find his or her own expression of the pose in his or her body while exploring the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Enjoying a balanced, happy life, Amanda finds time to travel, read, write, run, watch movies, explore Buenos Aires, and learn new things -- like Spanish!

Diane Ghogomu

Diane is a nomadic child of the world currently growing, giving, and spreading love in Buenos Aires.  A former competitive athlete, almost six years ago Diane began to focus her energies on yoga to heal her battered physical body.  She found the first class excruciating slow and painful but after a few months of consistent practice, her constant aches and pains were mere memories.  She began to trade her competitive spirit for one of communal experience, her obsession to finish first, for an infinite journey of mind, body, and spirit integration.

Diane has studied under Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power, Bikram, and Kundalini yoga teachers and enjoys sprinkling her practice with elements from each school. Her classes are physically demanding but integrative, concentrating on exploring and opening one charka each month.  For Diane, practicing yoga is a journey to becoming a more perfect urban yogi; understanding that every situation has a lesson, each breath is a miracle, and the moment that matters is now.

Lisa Dean

Lisa was introduced to yoga as a child by her grandmother who practiced and taught hatha yoga.  Lisa immersed herself in the practice of yoga, understanding from an early age that yoga was much more than a physical practice of asana.  Yoga is a state of being, creating a deep connection with one´s self.

In 2010, Lisa received her 200 hour training certification from Deep Yoga Studio in San Diego, California.  Receiving great joy from her own yoga practice, Lisa strives to live in a state of yoga, of union, both on and off the mat.

Lisa is a compassionate and lighthearted teacher who hopes to provide a safe environment for students to reach a higher level of self awareness through movement, breath, and self reflection.

Jane Thibodeau

Jane took her first yoga class at the encouragement of her mother and sister when she was roughly 15 years old. She immediately felt drawn to both the physical challenge as well as the relaxing nature provided by each class. After several years of practicing mostly Hatha yoga, with some experience in Bikram, Iyengar and Vinyasa, Jane began teaching at her university while finishing her studies. During this time, Jane began to realize how much she loved sharing her passion for yoga with others and guiding them to constantly grow in their own practices. On a spiritual journey through India, Jane decided to further her personal practice as well as her ability to teach others by taking the Yoga Instructor’s Course offered at SVYASA Yoga University in Bangalore, India. During the month-long training course, Jane received extensive training in a traditional Hatha style yoga. Jane’s classes incorporate elements from her traditional training in combination with elements from the more Western flow yoga she grew up practicing. Jane moved to Buenos Aires in January of 2010 to pursue a Master’s degree in International Relations. She finished studying in July of 2011 and is now looking forward
to a new phase in her life here in Buenos Aires.
