New to yoga?
Welcome to ancient science of yoga! Here are some tips that will help make your yoga experience the best it can be.
• Yoga is practiced in bare feet, so please remove your shoes and socks. This way we can feel the earth beneath our feet and this helps improve our balance.
• Before coming to class, wait about two to three hours after a big meal, or an hour after a light snack.
• Let me know if you have any injuries or physical concerns so that I can help you. Any physical limitations can be overcome, as there are many ways to practice asanas (yoga postures).
• Yoga is not a competition so make your best effort to let go of any competitive mind-set you may have. Practicing yoga is a process, and not about getting asanas picture-perfect.
• Observe silence in the studio before class begins, as many students enjoy this time for meditation.
• Please turn off your cell phones.
• Most importantly, have fun. This is a special time for you and it should feel good.
