All the yoga styles and pilates fusion classes are suitable for all student levels. Please advise your teacher if you are a beginner so that you can receive extra guidance.
Akhanda Hatha Yoga
Akhanda means indivisible, entire and whole. The class will include a
balance of yin and yang postures, pranayama, relaxation, and meditation.
Students are encouraged to explore their own breath, body, and
experience within a range of safe motion, and to find joy in movement as
they develop their strength, flexibility, determination, balance,
coordination, concentration, and confidence.
Dynamic Yoga
Dynamic
Yoga is a vigorous
type of vinyasa yoga. It is a flowing meditative class harmonizing
breath with movement and cultivating strength, agility and flexibility.
It works the entire body, with an emphasis on the core. It is suitable
for beginners and regular students
seeking for a faster paced class. It´s a strong class that helps to
build strength, stamina and flexibility and improves concentration and
breathing
capacity.
Flow with Grace
In this class we apply the Universal Principals of Alignment of Anusara Yoga. Every class is set around a theme and usually begins with mantra chanting. Students are guided to coordinate their movements and actions with their breath. We move through a variety of asanas (poses) including vinyasas. These classes are heart-oriented as we move from the inside out.
Hatha Flow
Expect a dynamic class with a flowing series of postures with emphasis on alignment,
coordinated with the breath, to build strength and increase flexibility,
self-awareness and ending in deep relaxation to integrate the practice.
These classes often include some
pranayama exercises.
Hatha Sivananda
This
class starts with breathing exercises (pranayama) to tune inward before
working with the physical body. This is followed by sun salutations to
warm up the body and awaken vital energy, and 12 core postures and their
variations. Between each posture, the student relaxes for a short time
which allows for the vital energy to be reabsorbed. A longer guided
relaxation is also done at the end and allows for an overall sense of
harmony and well-being.Hatha Yoga
Hatha yoga is not a specific type of yoga, but is
rather a basis of all the asana yoga systems such as Anusara, Vinyasa and Dyanamic Yoga. The Sanskrit word Hatha has come to be used in describing a more classic approach, a one-pose-at-a-time
style class, with focus on alignment, anatomy, body mechanics, and
mindfulness.
In our Hatha classes, expect an emphasis
on simplicity, repetition, and ease, a pursuit of effortlessness even as
we work out the body’s kinks. Relaxation is paramount as we make a
full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures,
twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers.
Karma Yoga
A multi-level Yoga class, Karma classes are a great way to expand your practice. On the first Sunday of every month we host yoga events where we raise money for local organizations.
Classes are donation based - whatever is reasonable for you to give.
All levels and ranges of experience are welcome.
Pilates Balance
This class will challenge your balance, strength, coordination and flexibility. You will learn how to strengthen the core stabilizing system through key alignment and posture work and how the breath is the bridge to better functional movement. The key is to harmonize the body from the inside out. You will also be shown some simple 'manage and maintain' exercises to take home and keep you free of back pain and energized throughout the day.
Vinyasa
This is an active yoga practice incorporating sun
salutations and ujjayi (victorious) breathing, linking continuous
movement with breath. Expect movement, not just stretching. This class
is a fusion between flowing with the breath and gentle holds.
May include back bends and/or inversions.
